Cristiano Ronaldo gets banned and fined for responding to Lionel Messi shouts

According to Express.co, the Saudi Arabian Football Federation (SAFF) has issued Cristiano Ronaldo a one-match suspension. He was also fined 30,000 Saudi Riyals (£6,300) for his celebrating activities during Sunday’s match.

The violent competition between the two football titans has dominated the sport for over two decades, with either Messi or Ronaldo winning the Ballon D’Or between 2008 and 2017. They had each won five trophies at the conclusion of this era, when Luka Modric interrupted their reign. Messi has subsequently added three more trophies to his collection.
