Alexander-Arnold, Szoboszlai, Salah – Liverpool injury news and return dates before Brentford

According to liverpoolecho, Jurgen Klopp will explain Trent Alexander-Arnold’s reoccurring knee problem to the media at the AXA Training Centre on Friday morning.

The Liverpool manager will have his regular Premier League pre-match press conference, but Alexander-Arnold’s injury will keep him out of the League Cup final later this month.

After a knee injury in last month’s FA Cup triumph against Arsenal, the 25-year-old returned to play against Norwich City on January 28. Alexander-Arnold was replaced at halftime in Saturday’s 3-1 win against Burnley and will miss until early March.

Klopp’s No.66 is the latest casualty, with Thiago Alcantara and Dominik Szoboszlai both relapsing and unlikely to play against Chelsea at Wembley later this month.

Liverpool face Brentford on Saturday afternoon in the Premier League, giving them a chance to extend their advantage over Manchester City to nine points before their evening match against Chelsea.

The ECHO provides injury updates before the 12:30 kickoff in West London.

Same knee area. Nothing serious, but he felt it again and we must evaluate it. Trent claimed everything was alright, but he felt it, so we had to remove him. The Liverpool manager is anticipated to deliver a more concrete statement on Friday morning.

Expected return: early March

Mohamed Salah

Mohamed Salah hasn’t played for Liverpool since January owing to the Africa Cup of Nations and a hamstring injury. Since being substituted in Egypt’s 2-2 draw with Ghana on January 18, the Egyptian has been rehabbing on Merseyside. Salah trained with Liverpool on Tuesday for the first time in six weeks, suggesting he will play against Brentford on Saturday.

Return expected: February 17.

Dominik Szoboszlai

Before beginning the thrashing of Chelsea at the end of January, Szoboszlai injured his hamstring in the New Year’s Day win against Newcastle United.

Just hours before the Arsenal game on February 4, Szoboszlai’s muscle problem returned, requiring a period on the sidelines. He may not be fit for the February 25 League Cup final versus Chelsea.
