After mourning his father, Conor Bradley returned to training this week and should be the first-choice right-back while Alexander-Arnold is absent. Liverpool’s calendar between now and the March international break is busy.\

Alexander-Arnold hopes to return for England’s March 23 and 26 friendly against Brazil and Belgium. The Reds play Brentford and Luton in the Premier League before next Sunday’s Carabao Cup final against Chelsea.

Southampton plays the midweek FA Cup fifth round at Anfield three days later. Liverpool go to Nottingham Forest on Saturday 2nd and begin their Europa League knockout round campaign on Thursday. Liverpool faces championship rivals Manchester City at Anfield on 10th.

Next comes the return European match at Anfield on Thursday 14th, followed by the Merseyside derby against Everton at Goodison Park on March 17. If Klopp’s team advances in the FA Cup, the quarterfinals will be played that weekend. Liverpool has nine games in 29 days, a game every 3.2 days.

As the only fit natural right-back following Bradley, Gomez will be crucial. The 26-year-old, capped 11 times by England, has missed over 100 games owing to physical issues in his nine years at Anfield.
