Arsenal and Liverpool will make a bid to sign Koopmeiners

According to football-talk, Arsenal and Liverpool are apparently ready to submit a formal approach to recruit Atalanta star Teun Koopmeiners this summer, as revealed by Italian website Tutto Juve. It has been widely rumored that the Gunners are looking to acquire a new midfielder ahead of next season as a possible replacement for Thomas Partey, who has suffered with injuries in previous years. Douglas Luiz, Martin Zubimendi, and Amadou Onana have all been reported as significant targets for the North London club, but it appears Koopmeiners is also on their radar.

According to Tutto Juve, Arsenal are interested in acquiring the Dutchman and are prepared to make a formal offer of roughly £51 million to clinch his contract this summer. However, according to the source, Liverpool is also interested in signing him and is preparing a formal offer to tempt the midfielder away from Gewiss Stadium ahead of next season.

Tutto Juve adds that, in addition to Arsenal and Liverpool, Manchester United and Chelsea are also interested in signing him. In addition, Juventus has indicated an interest in obtaining his services, although they are unable to match the offers made by Premier League teams. Liverpool chose to rebuild their engine room last summer, but it appears they still want to add more firepower to that position, as they have been connected with a number of midfielders in recent months.

Koopmeiners is a flexible player who can play anywhere in the center of the park. He is lively, technically proficient, capable of threading passes between the lines, contributing to some critical goals, and working incredibly hard while not in possession. The Atalanta star is a very skilled athlete who has shown flashes of his abilities in recent Serie A games. So, if Arsenal or Liverpool are able to recruit him this summer, he may be a wise investment.

However, Liverpool’s midfield department is now well-resourced, therefore they do not need to spend any more money to recruit a new player. If Koopmeiners left La Dea at the conclusion of the season, he would be better placed at the Emirates Stadium than at Anfield.
