Cristiano Ronaldo’s controversial take slammed by Eden Hazard who blasts ‘I don’t agree’

Eden Hazard has criticized Cristiano Ronaldo for saying that the Saudi Pro League is superior than Ligue 1, according to an article from dailystar.co.

Since being enticed to the Gulf kingdom in 2022, Ronaldo has been blowing the trumpet for the Saudi Pro League. Last month, he made the contentious claim that the division is among the best in the world. Though Hazard, a Chelsea great who won the Ligue 1 championship with Lille in 2011, understands precisely where he stands, his assertion split opinion.

“If you look at the league in Saudi Arabia, they have big players, it’s just that they’re not big teams,” Hazard said speaking on The Obi One Podcast. “In France, maybe now they have less big players, but they have big teams. “I’m sure if a Ligue 1 team played against a Saudi Arabian team, they would win. Maybe not easily, like people might think, but the level in France is good. I’m watching their league and they have talent.”

Speaking at the Dubai Globe Soccer Awards back in January, Ronaldo said: “I think the Saudi league is not worse than France’s league in my opinion. In France’s league you have two or three teams with a good level, in Saudi now it’s more competitive.
