Ten Hag claims Man Utd performed well and can compete with Manchester City
According to teamtalk, despite their troubles in the game, Ten Hag was sure that United performed well at the Etihad Stadium, saying: “I think [it was a] good performance from our side.”
“We went up 1-0 and played according to plan. We had our times thereafter, too, when we wanted to try again.I believe we performed admirably in terms of defence. But then [there were] two key moments in which we almost made a breakthrough and allowed the first goal, as well as the second goal following another crucial moment, when [Alejandro] Garnacho was through on the break.

“So, yes, you are disappointed. We have to accept that, but that is how it is. But I believe we had the chance to gain at least one point, and a win was also attainable.”
Ten Hag also claims that United are falling behind City in terms of quality. “No, I don’t think so, absolutely not,” he said.
“As you can see, we suffered a lot of injuries, but we still had an opportunity. Very narrow margins. I won’t say it was a tackle by Kyle Walker. They both ran, and Rashy affirmed that there was touch, which I saw back – it was really soft. However, if you get a small contact while running at full speed, you will lose control.
