Should Jose Mourinho become Bayern Munich next manager, three Chelsea players may be his targets

According to the report from express.co, the just-sacked Jose Mourinho could well be raiding former club
Chelsea this summer if he takes over as Bayern Munich boss. According to reports, the ‘Special One’ is
being lined up by the German giants with Thomas Tuchel currently under huge pressure following his
side’s defeat at Bayer Leverkusen on Saturday.

Various reports have it that the 3-0 loss left Bayern five points off their rivals in the title race, with their
run of 11 successive Bundesliga titles under serious threat. And Mourinho is back on the market after
being sacked by Roma in January, duly replaced by Daniele De Rossi.

Bild reports that the 61-year-old is even learning German. Taking over at Bayern would also present him
with the opportunity to land a league crown in a fifth different country, having already tasted top-flight
glory in Portugal, Italy, England and Spain.

Given the need for a fire-sale at Stamford Bridge as Mauricio Pochettino and co battle with FFP
regulations, a number of Chelsea players are expected to be on the market this summer. And Mourinho
will undoubtedly be in the market for some of them if given the chance to rebuild in Bayern.

There are three players in particular who will be of interest. Prior to being dismissed by Roma, Mourinho
had signed Romelu Lukaku on loan from Chelsea – having previously worked with the striker at
Manchester United. The Belgian striker has impressed with 15 goals in all competitions in Italy this season.
and Mourinho could well weigh-up a move for Wesley Fofana. At 23, the Frenchman has his best years
ahead of him and given Chelsea’s desperation to raise funds, are likely to demand far less than the
£70million they paid Leicester City for his services in 2022.
