Real Madrid wants the 25-year-old to come back, but there may be issues with Man City’s desire.

According to caughtoffside, Real Madrid and Man City remain in contention for their domestic league titles with a third of their games left and lead the Champions League Round of 16 second legs. Any player seeking to move this summer would like either team.

Since Los Blancos and the Cityzens are unlikely to consider a fire sale, it would mean the occasional strategic buy for certain positions. Kyle Walker and Dani Carvajal are world-class right-backs for their teams, but neither is growing younger.

By midseason 2024/25, Walker will be 34 and Carvajal 33. Perhaps that’s why both teams are reportedly interested in a former Real Madrid right-back.

Fichajes says that the two European giants are interested in 25-year-old Achraf Hakimi this summer. The Paris Saint-Germain player, a Moroccan international, played at the Santiago Bernabeu from 2017 to 2020 and spent much of his youth career at Real.

However, with the club also interested in signing Hakimi’s teammate Kylian Mbappe this summer, their money may be limited, allowing Man City to sign a player whose demands they can easily match.
