Jorginho’s nasty retort to girlfriend Cat Harding, who inquired if he was proposing

According to a recent article from Mirror.co, Italy and Arsenal player Jorginho responded to his partner’s query about whether he planned to propose with a simple ‘No’, only to pop the question later that year.

Jorginho and fiancee Cat Harding are among the couples featured on Prime Video’s ‘Married to the Game,’ a show about athletes and their relationships. James Tarkowski, Ilkay Gundogan, Riyad Mahrez, and Jorginho’s former Arsenal teammate Matt Turner are also engaged, along with their respective partners.

Former ‘The Voice UK’ finalist Harding, 33, has been engaged to Jorginho, 32, since late 2023. During one episode of the show, however, prior inquiries regarding a proposal are greeted with a direct response.

The video, released on Prime Video’s social media accounts, shows the couple getting ready to go out. Harding is pondering whether to wear a ring on her finger, maybe because she believes she will need to keep it free for an engagement ring to replace it.

“I think I’m going to put something else on,” Cat begins, before saying: “You’re not going to propose to me today, are you?” Rather than thinking about his answer, though, Jorginho replies with a simple “No”.

“Okay, I can put this one on here,” Cat then says, placing a ring on her finger with a smile. She then points out that the ring finger on her left hand is still free, prompting the footballer to say “It’s going to stay free”.

The pair share a laugh together as she clarifies he means it’s going to stay free “today” rather than indefinitely. Jorginho would end up proposing later in the year, with the pair set for a summer wedding in 2025 outside the football season and away from international tournament summers.

Jorginho, who joined Arsenal from Chelsea in January 2023, has been enjoying his time in North London. He scored his first goal for the Gunners in this season’s Champions League group stage, and while his contract expires this summer there is an option to extend it by a further year.

“I am trying to enjoy the moment, to be honest,” Jorginho said after Arsenal’s recent Premier League victory over Liverpool (per the Evening Standard). “We haven’t spoken about it (my contract) and I just want to win games with Arsenal.

“It would mean a lot [to win the Premier League],” said Jorginho. “That one is missing to tick [off]. We need to enjoy the moment and push really hard every single game. At the end, we will see. We have to do a lot and we have to push a lot. We are on the right path.”
