Gary Lineker issued a six-word conclusion after Liverpool beat Chelsea in the Carabao Cup final

According to football.london, football commentator Gary Lineker has provided a brief assessment of Liverpool’s Virgil van Dijk following their Carabao Cup final victory against Chelsea.

Liverpool won the cup for the tenth time in club history, 1-0 in extra time, with Van Dijk scoring the game-winning goal. During normal play, Van Dijk felt he had scored from an Andy Robertson corner, but the play was called off by VAR owing to an offside player impeding a free kick.

However, Van Dijk and Liverpool scored the winning goal in the Carabao Cup final. Shortly after the winning header, Lineker expressed his admiration for the Liverpool captain on X, formerly known as Twitter.

“He’s an absolute boss is @VirgilvDijk,” said the Match of the Day host. The encounter was not without controversy, as Ryan Gravenberch was carried off the field in the first half with what seemed to be an ankle injury after a tackle by Moises Caicedo.
