Dortmund sends Sancho a warning that demonstrates Ten Hag was right.

According to footballtransfers, Borussia Dortmund has warned Manchester United loanee Jadon Sancho that he has to step up his game, but head coach Edin Terzic thinks the England winger is happy back in Germany. Sancho returned to his previous club on loan during the January transfer window, but despite a good start with BVB, he has struggled in recent games.

He was chosen to start Tuesday’s Champions League match against PSV, but was pulled off midway through the second half of the 1-1 tie after failing to contribute much.

“With Jadon, it’s always good to have him around,” Terzic told TNT Sports. “Inside the team, inside the group and also inside the squad on a matchday, because you know Jadon is capable of making special things happen.”He didn’t have his finest performance today, but he knows he can play better football. And this is what we’re going to work on: getting him back to this level every three days as needed. But he’s full of excitement, and we’re delighted that he’s here.”

Sancho failed to provide a shot or a critical pass during his hour-plus on the pitch, winning only two of his seven duels and failing to generate a foul. FootballCritic rated the appearance 5.6, the second lowest of the night.

The 23-year-old has already made four starts for Dortmund on loan from Manchester United but has yet to score or assist in any of them, despite winning a penalty against Koln, which was later scored.
