Bayern ace anticipated to return to Tottenham following Tuchel’s decision to quit
According to caughtoffside, Bayern Munich has had a rollercoaster ride so far in 2023/24, and the club has already decided to part ways with Thomas Tuchel at the end of the current season due to a lack of stability. The board had previously witnessed Tuchel’s side lose in the second round of the DFB-Pokal to third-tier Saarbrucken, as well as a 5-1 thrashing at Eintracht Frankfurt.
If it wasn’t awful enough, a 3-0 loss to unbeaten Bundesliga leaders Bayer Leverkusen, followed by a 3-2 loss to 11th-placed Bochum, was the final straw. After winning 11 consecutive German top-flight titles, Bayern is now eight points behind Leverkusen with 14 games remaining.

Given how the Bavarians are currently playing, it would take a mini miracle for them to recover the points needed to make it a twelve titles in a row. Part of the problem is that players, particularly Tottenham Hotspur loanee Eric Dier, consistently underperform.

Eric Dier is in action for Bayern Munich.
According to Sport BILD (via Daily Mail), the club is concerned about Dier’s abilities and lack of speed. Given that he was expressly a Tuchel signing, it is likely that he will return to North London once the manager departs.
He is, of course, out of contract at the end of the season, so Spurs will most likely wave him farewell in any case. It would be a major surprise if Harry Kane, another Tuchel target, followed him out the exit door, but it will depend on who comes in and what formation and set up they settle on.
